The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has officially expelled Jinja Progressive Academy from the ongoing 2025 U-20 National Boys’ Football Championship, currently being held at Ngora High School.
The disciplinary action follows serious violations during and after their semifinal match against St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende on May 13, 2025.
Following an investigation by the National Organizing Committee, the school was found guilty of:
- Fielding ineligible players, Isabirye Adrian and Ntege Musa, both of whom had accumulated two yellow cards.
- Engaging in violent conduct, including the assault of match officials and incitement of crowd violence a breach of USSSA Rules 8.1 and 8.2.
As a result, the following sanctions have been imposed:
- Forfeiture of the semifinal match.
- Immediate expulsion from the championship.
- Immediate eviction from the games village and surrounding areas in Ngora District.
- Further disciplinary action will be communicated after briefing the Ministry of Education and Sports.
USSSA remains committed to upholding discipline, integrity, and fair play in all its competitions.
