Minister of Finance (General Duties), Henry Musasizi, has refuted allegations made by the LC5 Chairman of Bunyangabu District, Ategeka James Mugarama Entale, claiming that the Minister failed to follow up on presidential pledges particularly concerning emergency road infrastructure in the district.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Mugarama told President Yoweri Museveni that Minister Musasizi had ignored his attempts to engage him regarding a presidential pledge for funding to repair a deteriorating bridge in the district.

Mugarama further stated that due to the poor state of roads, only one route remains accessible in the area. In response, President Museveni assured him that funds would be secured promptly and instructed Mugarama to submit a formal written request.

However, Minister Musasizi has dismissed the allegations as false. He stated that he has never met Mugarama in person or communicated with him by phone. The Minister added that it is likely Mugarama does not even know the location of his office.

“It is completely untrue and baseless for Mr. Mugarama to claim that he visited my office regarding a presidential pledge. There is no proof of such an engagement,” Minister Musasizi said.

He went on to describe the claims as deliberate misinformation and questioned Mugarama’s understanding of the nature of any presidential pledge for Bunyangabu District.

“I challenge him to come out publicly and clarify what he meant, and why he chose to mislead the President,” Musasizi added. “Should the President seek clarification, I am ready and willing to explain the facts to him directly.”
