The Ndorwa West parliamentary aspirant in Kabale District, Counsel Eliab Mporera Naturinda has urged institutions of higher learning to decentralize legal education to better serve civil servants stationed in remote areas.
Speaking through Kabale District Workers’ Councilor, Betty Amatsiko, Naturinda delivered his message during a graduation ceremony held at Kabale District Rukiiko Hall on Saturday. Fourteen students were awarded certificates in Administrative Law after completing a short course facilitated by the College of Education and External Studies, Center for Lifelong Learning at Makerere University.
Naturinda highlighted the challenges faced by civil servants in accessing education due to geographic barriers. He emphasized that while the government promotes legal education as a tool for enhancing public service delivery, many potential learners are based in hard-to-reach regions without nearby study centers.
He commended the graduates for their determination and urged others in public service to remain committed to lifelong learning despite their demanding workloads.
