The Uganda Court Bailiffs Association (UCBA) on Thursday hosted a farewell dinner at Karveli Restaurant to honor HW Timothy Lumunye, the outgoing Secretary of the Bailiffs Licensing and Disciplinary Committee, in recognition of his outstanding service and unwavering dedication to the Association.
The evening unfolded in a warm, collegial atmosphere, celebrating HW Lumunye’s exemplary tenure, one defined by integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the regulation and development of court bailiff practice in Uganda.
His leadership was credited with enhancing operational efficiency, promoting ethical standards, and reinforcing public confidence in the Committee’s work.
The occasion also featured a special recognition of HW Ayebare Tumwebaze, a long-serving and dedicated Committee member. HW Tumwebaze was commended for his impactful service and significant contribution to UCBA’s mission.
The event was graced by the Acting Chief Registrar, HW Pamella Lamunu Ocaya, who praised the honorees for their exceptional service to both the Judiciary and the Association.
In her remarks, she emphasized the critical role the Committee plays in maintaining discipline and accountability within the court bailiff fraternity, and applauded the two officers for their integrity and professionalism.
“I deeply appreciate the commitment you have shown in executing your duties. Your service has not only strengthened the Committee but also enhanced public trust in the work of court bailiffs,” she said.
In his farewell speech, HW Lumunye expressed his gratitude to the UCBA leadership and colleagues for their support throughout his tenure.
He described his experience as both humbling and rewarding and encouraged members to remain committed to ethical conduct and discipline.
“Integrity is the cornerstone of our profession,” he noted. “It is our collective responsibility to preserve the credibility and trust the public places in us.”
During the event, HW Otwao Fidelis was formally introduced as the incoming Secretary to the Bailiffs Licensing and Disciplinary Committee.
His appointment was received with optimism and well wishes from members of the Association.
In his closing remarks, UCBA President Brian Kanyesigye thanked HW Lumunye for his exemplary service and wished him success in his next chapter.
