The official nomination exercise for LCIII chairpersons, Town Council Mayors, LCIII councillors, and Youth councillors commenced on Tuesday in Kabale District.
A large number of aspirants turned up at the NRM offices to pick nomination forms, marking the beginning of the party’s grassroots election process.
The enthusiastic participation cut across various positions, including Town Council Mayors, Sub-county Chairpersons, Councillors, and Youth representatives.
Kabale District NRM Registrar, Medard Ntegyereize, confirmed the overwhelming turnout and expressed satisfaction with the level of interest in the elections scheduled for August 14th.
“Due to the high number of aspirants, we have scheduled the nominations to be conducted in phases,” Ntegyereize said. “We are starting with Ndorwa West today and tomorrow, followed by Ndorwa East on Thursday and Friday, and we shall conclude with Kabale Municipality on Saturday.”
After his nomination, Noah Mubangizi, aspiring LCIII Chairperson for Rubaya Sub-county in Ndorwa West, addressed the media, thanking the electorate for their support.
He also unveiled his manifesto, which focuses on improving service delivery, especially in education, by providing scholastic materials to learners, constructing water tanks, and improving healthcare and road infrastructure in the sub-county.
Other nominated candidates include Chris Mugisha for LCIII Chairperson of Kahungye Sub-county, and Innocent Karibobo for LCIII Councillor of Rwanyena Parish in Rubaya Sub-county, among others.
