The family of a 32-year-old man, Felix Byarugaba, a resident of Rugandu Cell, Katojo Parish, Rutenga Sub County in Kanungu District, is in panic and fear following the sudden disappearance of their two-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Ninsima.
The child allegedly went missing on August 11, 2025, at around 2:00 PM when both her parents were asleep, leaving her outside playing with a neighbor’s child.
According to police, when the parents came out about 40 minutes later, Elizabeth was nowhere to be seen. A search was immediately conducted in the neighborhood and surrounding areas but yielded no results.
The parents later reported the matter to Rutenga Police Station, and announcements were made on local radio stations, but the child has not yet been recovered.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, described the incident as unfortunate and cautioned parents and guardians to always keep children under close supervision to prevent such tragedies.
He further noted that investigations are ongoing and efforts to recover the missing child are underway.
