Rukungiri District Principal Human Resource Officer, Ivan Tumwebaze, has officially handed over office following his decision to take early retirement after more than 10 years of service.
Tumwebaze joined Rukungiri District Local Government in 2015 as a Human Resource Officer. He was promoted to Senior Human Resource Officer in 2018 and later rose to Principal Human Resource Officer in 2022, a position he has held until his retirement.
Speaking at his hand over ceremony at the Rukungiri District headquarters on Monday, Tumwebaze said his decision to retire early was deliberate, noting that he always preferred to leave public service before reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
He revealed that he now plans to focus on private business ventures and advised public servants to remain dedicated to their duties while still in service.
