Police in Kabale District have recovered the body of an unidentified man found floating in River Rwabahazi, Rugyendera Cell, Rushaki Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, said the body was discovered by passersby on Thursday at around 9:00 a.m.
He explained that officers from Kabale Central Police Station were alerted, visited the scene, examined and documented it before retrieving the body.
Maate said that the body was later taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem to establish the cause of death.
Maate appealed to members of the public with missing relatives to visit the hospital mortuary to help identify the body and ensure a decent burial.
