Former aspirant for the position of National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League Chairperson, Kiconco Brenda, has spoken out following her unsuccessful bid in the recently concluded elections, alleging intimidation, unlawful arrests and electoral malpractice.

In an official statement issued under the banner “The Youth Voice,” Kiconco expressed gratitude to her supporters, whom she said endured bribery, doctored documents, and harassment during the polls.

“Your courage amidst intimidation, bribery, unlawful arrests, and even doctored electoral documents speaks volumes about your commitment to the values of our great Movement,” she said. “Some of you I had to personally remove from cells, yet your resilience and faith in justice remained unshaken.”

She accused senior NRM figures, including ministers, members of parliament, district chairpersons, and resident district commissioners (RDCs), of using “heavy machinery” to tilt the elections.

According to her, results in some areas where she claimed to have won were “shamefully turned to zero.”

Despite the alleged irregularities, Kiconco maintained that the struggle was “bigger than one election,” framing it as a push for a disciplined and ideologically grounded youth wing within the ruling party.

“This was about building a vibrant youth wing that reflects the true spirit of the NRM and secures the future of our country,” she noted, urging her supporters to remain united and peaceful.
