Parliament is set to implement an e-Parliament project as part of its new Strategic Plan for the Financial Years 2025/2026–2029/2030, launched on Friday, 26 September 2025.

The initiative aims to strengthen institutional capacity in legislation, oversight and representation by digitising parliamentary processes, enhancing efficiency and promoting citizen participation.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, the Zombo District Woman MP, Hon. Esther Afoyochan, said the Parliamentary Commission would ensure an enabling legal and policy framework to facilitate the plan’s implementation.

“Together, let us build a Parliament that is people-centred, efficient, innovative, and accountable, a Parliament that truly reflects the aspirations of Ugandans today and for generations to come,” Among said.

According to the Speaker, the plan seeks to improve the quality of legislation, deepen oversight of public resources, enhance transparency and accountability, and promote citizen engagement in governance.
