An attack by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels on Saturday, October 11, left two Ugandan soldiers dead after their convoy was ambushed along National Road 4 (RN4) in the village of Ndeisa, Irumu territory, Ituri Province.

The convoy, which was en route to the Mungamba military base, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Bunia, came under heavy fire. Two soldiers were killed instantly, and at least one army vehicle was set ablaze. Some local sources reported that two military trucks were destroyed in the assault, while a nearby civilian house was also torched.

Ugandan troops swiftly responded, pursuing the attackers into the surrounding forest. Clashes between the army and the rebels were reportedly still ongoing by Sunday morning. The number of casualties on the rebel side remains unknown.
