The Deputy Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, has officially commissioned the Kamwenge Chief Magistrate’s Court, marking a major milestone in the Judiciary’s effort to enhance judicial accountability and improve access to justice across Uganda.

During the ceremony, Justice Zeija also opened the Court’s Day Care Centre before touring the newly established court premises, which include modern court halls, holding cells, archives, and exhibit stores.

In his remarks, Justice Zeija applauded the collaborative effort that made the project a reality.

“I thank the district administration for ensuring that land was secured for this project. I also commend the Permanent Secretary and the Engineering team for their dedication in ensuring the successful completion of this building. Until recently, the Kamwenge Court was operating in a shop and lacked the essential components of a proper courthouse,” he said.
