The Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) has announced the reopening of the Ruharo section [Km 3+700] along the Mbarara–Ishaka Road to all traffic, following swift emergency repairs by the Mbarara Maintenance Station Team.
The section had been temporarily closed on Friday to allow for urgent maintenance works.
In a statement, the ministry said that final sealing works will be carried out in two weeks, after monitoring the section for settlement to ensure long-term stability.
“We appreciate the team’s efforts and all partners who extended support to ensure timely restoration and safe passage for road users,” the ministry added.
