Police at Nsangi Police Division on 3rd December 2025 rescued 47 victims of suspected human trafficking, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Rachael Kawala has confirmed.
The victims, aged between 16 and 30, were reportedly trafficked from several upcountry districts, including Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kabale, Ntungamo, Mityana, and areas within the Busoga region.
They were allegedly lured with promises of online job opportunities after undergoing so-called financial literacy training.
The rescue followed intelligence provided by one of the victims who had earlier escaped from the camp.
According to police, the company behind the recruitment is Dream Visionaries, operating under Alliance in Motion Global. Efforts to arrest its director are currently underway.
Investigations indicate that the company targets vulnerable youth, charging a registration fee of Shs 150,000.
Once recruited, the victims are confined in small rooms and denied communication after their phones are confiscated for six days.
After this period, each victim is given a phone and instructed to call their family to demand Shs 1.5 million as “start-up capital.”
All 47 victims are currently receiving care and further assistance at Nsangi Police Division as inquiries continue.
