The Chief Justice of Uganda, Dr. Flavian Zeija, has called on all Ugandan’s to embrace peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and alternative dispute resolution as key tools for resolving conflicts and sustaining social stability.
Justice Zeija made the remarks in his Eid al-Fitr message on Friday, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadhan for Muslims.
He described Eid as a time for gratitude, reflection, and renewal of faith, noting that it concludes a period defined by sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
“Ramadhan teaches patience, humility, generosity, and empathy. These values are not only central to the Islamic faith but are also essential for building a just, peaceful, and cohesive society,” he said.
On behalf of the Judiciary, Justice Zeija commended the Muslim community for their ongoing efforts to promote harmony, tolerance, and unity across Uganda.
“These virtues resonate strongly with the Judiciary’s mission of delivering people-centred justice grounded in fairness, integrity, and respect for human dignity,” he added.
He concluded by urging citizens to let the spirit of Eid inspire renewed commitment to justice, accountability, and service to the people.
