The State Minister of Finance for Privatization and Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite, has received a delegation of Chinese investors led by Paul Zhang, the lead developer of Tian-Tang Mbale Industrial Park and other major industrial projects in Uganda.

Zhang, an established industrial investor and developer, focuses on building and managing industrial parks such as Mbale and Mbalala, which have attracted international investors, particularly from China.

These parks host factories manufacturing products including mattresses, electronics, and household goods, contributing to Uganda’s growing industrial base.

While addressing the delegation, Hon. Anite commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued support in promoting investment and industrialization in Uganda. She also appreciated Zhang’s efforts in mobilizing investors to set up businesses in the country.

Due to the scale and impact of his investments, the President has offered Zhang over 1,200 acres of land in Lusenke, Kayunga District, to facilitate further industrial development.

These initiatives are expected to drive industrial growth and create more than 200,000 jobs in the coming years, particularly benefiting young graduates and skilled engineers.

She emphasized that Uganda has identified priority sectors such as agro-industrialization, tourism, mineral-based industrialization, and science, innovation and technology, all of which present strong opportunities for value addition, job creation, and export growth.

Lusenke Industrial Park is strategically located near a hydropower station, ensuring a reliable electricity supply. The development plan also includes a fully integrated industrial ecosystem with schools, hospitals, and shopping facilities to support workers and their families.
