The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC has commenced its internal process of identifying a candidate for the upcoming by-election in Kikuube District.
The Electoral Commission has released a roadmap to fill the vacancy left by the late Kikuube District Chairperson, Peter Banura, who died in a road crash on April 4, shortly after being re-elected in the recently concluded general elections.
According to the roadmap, nominations will take place from May 25 to 26th, while polling is scheduled for June 10.
FDC President, Hon. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, announced on Monday during a media briefing at the party’s headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, that once the internal process is complete, the party will field a candidate to represent the people of Kikuube District.
Amuriat said the party has invited all interested FDC members and supporters in Kikuube District to formally express their interest in contesting for the seat, noting that the party’s flag bearer will be selected from among those who come forward.
