The newly appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi, has pledged to work tirelessly with government colleagues and stakeholders to advance sound fiscal management, inclusive economic planning, and policies aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth and improving livelihoods across Uganda.
Minister Musasizi made the commitment shortly after being sworn in at State House Entebbe on Monday during a ceremony presided over by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Minister Musasizi was among the 78 members of the Executive who took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Minister, formally assuming their responsibilities in government.
In his remarks, Minister Musasizi expressed gratitude to President Museveni for entrusting him with the role.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the trust and confidence placed in me to serve in this capacity,” Musasizi said.
“I am fully committed to upholding this responsibility with integrity, diligence, and dedication to the people of Uganda,” he added.
Minister Musasizi further pledged to work collaboratively to strengthen Uganda’s economic management.
“I pledge to work tirelessly alongside my colleagues in government and with all stakeholders to advance sound fiscal management, inclusive economic planning, and policies that foster sustainable growth and improve livelihoods across our country,” he said.
Addressing Ugandans, the minister emphasized his commitment to public service, accountability, and national development.
“To the people of Uganda, I am here to serve you. I will approach this role with humility, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to advancing our nation’s economic development and shared prosperity,” he noted.
Musasizi, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Rubanda East County, replaces former Finance Minister Matia Kasaija.
