Residents of Nakitoma Sub-county in Kafu, Nakasongora District have received a major boost in security following the official launch of the Nakitoma Sub-county Police Station.

The facility was commissioned on Friday, June 19, 2026, by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Joseph Obwona, who represented the Inspector General of Police at the event.

Delivering the IGP’s message, AIGP Obwona said the establishment of police stations at the sub-county level is part of the Uganda Police Force’s broader strategy to bring security services closer to the people and support effective government service delivery.

He noted that extending police services to grassroots communities is essential in strengthening law and order, improving response to crime, and enhancing public safety.

According to Obwona, the construction of sub-county police stations remains an ongoing initiative aimed at increasing accessibility to police services, promoting community policing, and fostering stronger collaboration between law enforcement agencies and local communities.
