Kabale Diocese has officially announced the names of 45 seminarians and deacons who are scheduled to receive different ministries and Holy Orders in August 2026, while inviting members of the faithful to raise any canonical concerns before the ordinations take place.
In a circular issued on June 30, 2026, Bishop’s Secretary Fr. Placid Mugumya called upon priests, religious and lay faithful across the diocese to publicly proclaim the names of the candidates in their respective parishes in accordance with Canon 1043 of the Code of Canon Law.
The canon requires Christians who are aware of any impediment that could prevent a candidate from being ordained to report the matter to the diocesan bishop or parish priest before the ordination.
“The Christian faithful are aware of impediments to Sacred Orders, they are obliged to reveal them to the Ordinary or the Parish Priest before the Ordination,” the circular states.
The diocese has given the faithful until July 31, 2026, to submit any information concerning the suitability of the candidates to the Bishop’s Office.
A total of 13 deacons are expected to be ordained priests during a Mass at Rushoroza Cathedral Parish on August 22, 2026. The candidates include Rev. Dns. Adon Aturinde, Cyril Arthur Ayebazibwe, Deusdedit Niwagaba, Ivan Ndamira, Justus Turyatunga, Sostine Mugisha, Syrus Aharizira, Anakeleti Maridadi, Prosper Turihamwe, Sosteni Turyasingura, Tom Twinomujuni, Venansio Twesigye and John Bosco Magezi.
On the same day, 10 seminarians will be ordained to the Holy Order of Diaconate at Rushoroza Cathedral Parish.
Earlier, on August 2, 2026, the diocese will admit two seminarians as candidates for Major Orders, while 20 seminarians will be installed into the ministries of Lector and Acolyte during celebrations at Rushoroza Cathedral Parish.
Fr. Mugumya asked the faithful to pray for the candidates, saying, “May the Holy Spirit continue to guide these young men in their preparation for the different ministries they are about to embrace.”
