Journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala has reignited debate over the mysterious death of Ali Ssenyomo and the ownership of properties allegedly linked to the late businessman Ivan Ssemwanga.
In a social media post, Njala claims that Ssenyomo lived in South Africa, acted as a proxy for some of Ssemwanga’s properties and previously operated as a dealer on William Street in Kampala before leaving Uganda.

He further claims that Ssenyomo died under unclear circumstances in 2015, with questions emerging over the fate of assets allegedly connected to him.
Njala also shared land title documents relating to properties in Makerere, Kampala, which contain ownership entries and estate references that have sparked fresh questions about subsequent property transfers.
The revelations have also revived scrutiny of Ssemwanga’s 2017 death in South Africa, including reports linking him to the name Ali Ssenyomo, his sealed-coffin burial and questions surrounding the handling of his estate.
However, the claims and alleged property connections have not been independently verified.
