The Inspectorate of Government-IG has arrested Alfred Okuonzi, the former Arua District Local Government chairperson, over allegations of selling a district-owned motorcycle that had been in his possession.
The motorcycle, a Yamaha with registration number UFA 401N, was allegedly sold for 6.5 million shillings.
Okuonzi was arrested alongside his son and two brokers whom he had reportedly instructed to facilitate the sale of the motorcycle.
The four suspects are expected to appear before the Anti-Corruption Court on Monday, November 2, 2026, to answer charges related to the alleged sale.
