RUBANDA – The Kabale Diocesan Bishop, Callistus Rubaramira on Saturday presided over the official opening ceremony of Muchahi Parish in Bubare Sub county, Rubanda District.
During the ceremony, Bishop Rubaramira announced Rev. Fr. Vincent Ankunda as the new priest of Muchahi Parish, now named St. Peter’s Catholic Parish Muchahi.
This worship center will serve as the hub for nine Catholic outstations, known as Hiikas, including Muchahi Nyamiringa Hiika, Ihanga, Kagaranma, Nyakiaharo, Butoboore, Ngasire, Kashaki, and Rwere Hiika.
As the Chief Guest, State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi expressed excitement, noting that Muchahi is the first parish with all its outstations in Rubanda East Constituency.
Musasizi, who is also the Rubanda East MP and NRM Chairperson for Rubanda District, pledged government support for Muchahi SACCO to enhance economic empowerment programs in the area.

Rubanda District Woman MP Hopeful, Ms. Jaqueline Katabazi, generously gifted Muchahi Catholic Parish with brand new worship instruments, particularly those needed for the Holy Eucharist sacrament.
Odo Tumukwasiibwe, the head of laity in the Kabale Diocese, highlighted that Muchahi Parish originated from Christ the King Parish in Kabale.
He urged the new leadership, led by Rev. Fr. Vincent, to ensure the implementation of ongoing development projects, including the construction of the Priests’ house, Bubare Secondary School, teachers’ quarters, among others.

Bishop Rubaramira encouraged the Christians of Muchahi to build their parish on faith in Jesus Christ and to use their spiritual gifts to support one another.
