KALUNGU – Thousands of youth leaders have gathered at St. Charles Lwanga Kasasa Senior Secondary School in Kalungu district for a three-day ideological work camp organized by the ruling party Secretariat.
The NRM officials stated that the camp aims to orient youth towards becoming responsible future leaders, addressing social issues such as poverty, ignorance, and disease within their communities and the nation.
Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, the NRM director of mobilization, emphasized the program’s goal to empower aspiring leaders with ideological orientation, a positive mindset, and leadership skills, enabling them to contribute to productive politics and the socio-economic transformation of the country through support for government programs.
Seninde noted that the youth sometimes get misled due to wrong guidance, leading to negative mindsets about the government. She invited youth leaders from various backgrounds in Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Masaka districts, and Masaka city to participate.
Hon. Emmanuel Dombo, the Director of Communication at the NRM Secretariat, stressed that the retreat would empower young people to understand their responsibilities and provide a platform for exchanging ideas on government programs like the Parish Development Model and other wealth creation projects within their communities.
He assured that the facilitators would teach, train, and guide the youth on how to benefit from government initiatives. The retreat is scheduled to conclude on Friday, December 8th.
