KISORO – The Chairperson of Bukimbiri United Boda Boda Operators (BUBO), Mugabe Robert, has announced that starting today (Thursday), they will begin seizing motorcycles owned by members of Kisoro United Boda Boda Operators (KUBO) once they enter Bukimbiri County.
For the past two years, tensions have risen between the two Boda Boda organizations in Kisoro district since the Bukimbiri Boda Riders separated from their parent organization, KUBO.
Mugabe accuses KUBO leadership of confiscating BUBO motorcycles whenever their riders enter Kisoro, especially within the municipality. He cited a recent incident on Wednesday when a motorcycle with registration number UFG 606 Q was forcibly taken from Akankwasa Alex of Kabishwi stage at Starbex petrol station.
Mugabe emphasizes that Bukimbiri Boda organization is a legally registered entity by Uganda Registration Service Bureau, authorized to operate within Kisoro district and Uganda as a whole. Despite district interventions and court cases, KUBO’s alleged harassment continues, causing financial losses to BUBO members and the organization.

In response, KUBO’s Chairperson, Kalagala Robert, asserts that KUBO is a district-registered entity with permission to operate throughout the district. He warns BUBO against impounding motorcycles owned by KUBO members, deeming it unwise.
