NEWS – A high-ranking Allied Democratic Forces commander, Kamusi, sustained injuries, and two of his bodyguards were incapacitated during an encounter with security forces in Kibale Forest.
On December 5, 2023, Kamusi and his group committed a brutal attack in Kanyatete village, Kasese District, resulting in the death of Biira Betty and injuries to her attendant, 14-year-old Masereka Harrison.
Upon learning of the incident, the UPDF, aided by technical intelligence and cooperation from the deceased’s relatives, successfully located Kamusi and his group in Kibale Forest.
Two close bodyguards were eliminated, and authorities seized two SMG rifles with serial numbers NY3231 and 2900339, along with 37 rounds of ammunition.
This group, linked to Njovu (arrested in November), was attempting to infiltrate Kibale for establishing bases.
