KABALE – Police in Kabale District are currently investigating a hit and run accident that resulted in the tragic death of Nuwagaba Morris (35) from Kitanga village, Mparo sub county in Rukiga district.
The incident occurred today at 6:45 AM along Kabale-Katuna highway at Kicumbi Village, Kamuganguzi Sub county.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, the deceased, riding motorcycle registration UFG096K, lost control and fell down, succumbing to injuries on the spot.
The accident happened while Morris was heading towards Kabale Town, being followed by a trailer at Kicumbi humps.
Upon notification, Police, led by ASP. Mucunguzi Wilson Oc Traffic Kabale and assisted by Cpl Tumwebaze, visited the scene.
The body has been taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem, and the motorcycle is currently parked at the police station pending inspection by the IOV (Inspector of Vehicles).
Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
