KABALE – The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, the Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has emphasized the need for Christians to shift their focus from the past to the future, with Jesus Christ as their guiding force in 2024.
In his New Years sermon at St Peters Cathedral Rugarama in Kabale Municipality, Bishop Akanjuna advised believers not to linger on past mistakes but to seek God’s guidance for a more favorable future.
Drawing an analogy with football, he encouraged Christians to consider this time as the first half, acknowledging mistakes, seeking forgiveness from Jesus, and striving for a better life on the right path.
Reflecting on Isaiah 63:7-9, Bishop Akanjuna emphasized God’s mercy, love, and ability to rescue and uplift His people from adversity. He urged Christians to assess their relationship with God, acknowledging areas of deviation and returning to Him for guidance and forgiveness.
