KABALE – Authorities at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital in Kabale Municipality are grappling with an unidentified body discovered by the police floating on River Rwabakazi in Rushaki Cell, Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi region police, reported that the deceased body was found yesterday by Paskali, a cattle keeper, at 7:30 AM while tending to animals in the farm of the late Byaruhanga Douglas, who was discovered dead in River Rwabakazi. Maate mentioned that Paskali promptly informed Mwanjari police, who then notified the D/CID Officer in Kabale.
D/SP Mukama Hakim, the District CID officer, along with the Homicide, Crime Intelligence, and Fire Rescue Service teams, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the decomposed body in the river, making identification challenging.
Maate stated that the scene was thoroughly examined, documented, and the body was subsequently conveyed to Kabale hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. He is now urging anyone missing a loved one to visit the hospital mortuary for identification and to make arrangements for a proper burial.
