KAMPALA – The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honorable Muwada Nkunyingi, revealed that he was blocked by SFC Soldiers from attending the 27th Ceremony of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth.
The conference, officially opened by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Munyonyo Commonwealth resort in Kampala, saw the participation of 33 Speakers and Presiding Officers, as stated by Speaker Anita Annet Among.
Despite being officially invited by Speaker Among, Nkunyingi expressed his frustration, asserting that he was intentionally denied access by SFC Soldiers.

In a tweet, he clarified, “For avoidance of doubt, I was formally invited by the Clerk to Parliament. Denying us access by SFC was intentional.”
Nkunyingi recounted being forcefully chased away from the ongoing Commonwealth Conference by SFC soldiers, who reportedly had a list of seven handwritten Opposition names, including his own, not permitted to enter.
He shared the ordeal on his Twitter handle, detailing how he was grabbed at the entrance, detained for an inexplicable 30 minutes, surrounded by SFC personnel, and eventually instructed to leave.
“I was forcefully chased by SFC from accessing the ongoing Commonwealth Conference. SFC soldiers had a list of 7 handwritten Opposition names, including mine, not allowed inside. They grabbed me at the entrance, strangely detained me for 30 minutes, surrounded by SFC, who later instructed me to march out,” Nkunyingi stated.
