KISORO – The Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Kisoro, Robert Tukamuhebwa, has directed Police to apprehend school administrators who have commenced the school academic term before the official date.

According to the official school calendar provided by the Ministry of Education and Sports, the designated start date for the school term is 5th February. Tukamuhebwa, speaking to our reporter on Tuesday, expressed concern over receiving reports of numerous schools violating this official schedule by initiating teaching activities ahead of the stipulated date, which he deemed illegal.

In response to these reports, he has instructed both the police and the District Education Officers to take action against school proprietors who have prematurely commenced the new term, leading to potential prosecution.
