KABALE – The wife to the Bishop of the Diocese of Muhabura, Maama Anne Mbitse has expressed dissatisfaction with the increasing misuse of the Bible by politicians seeking support during campaigns.

Speaking at the climax of the 2024 Diocese of Kigezi Annual Brethren Conference, held at the Convention Site on Rugarama Hill in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality, Maama Anne emphasized the theme “Mutashushanisibwa n’ab’obusingye obu” derived from Romans 12:2.

During the same conference on Saturday, the Very Rev. Can. Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye, the Provost of All Saints Cathedral Nakasero, challenged individuals to repent and reconcile with their maker for the prospect of inheriting eternal life.

Referring to the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11, Dr. Nyegenye urged Christians to forsake the evils of the present world.

She emphasized that mere participation in church activities is insufficient, urging believers to repent, seek reconciliation with God, and submit themselves to the Holy Spirit for renewal and transformation to enter the kingdom of God.

She also observed that many Christians suffer due to a loss of communion with their maker and encouraged them to, like the prodigal son, return to their father.
