The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially announced that the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results for the year 2023 are set to be unveiled this morning at 11:00 am.
The momentous occasion is scheduled to take place at State House Nakasero and will be presided over by the esteemed First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni.
The decision to disclose the examination results was reached following a meticulous briefing session organized by UNEB officials. The team, headed by the newly appointed Chairperson, Prof. Celestino Obua, and Executive Director Mr. Dan N. Odongo, successfully presented a comprehensive overview of learners’ performance to Minister Janet Museveni and other high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Education and Sports.

To ensure broad public access, the results release ceremony will be broadcasted live on major national radio and TV stations. Additionally, the event will be live-streamed on UNEB’s various social media platforms.
According to UNEB, a substantial total of 749,347 candidates participated in the PLE examination for the year 2023. The gender distribution demonstrated a balanced participation, with females comprising 52% and males constituting the remaining 48%.
The examination was conducted at 14,442 centers, with 79% representing Universal Primary Education (UPE) centers and the remaining 21% accounting for non-UPE schools.
