KABALE – Street kids in Kabale Municipality have urged the government to initiate programs that provide income opportunities, fostering hope and purpose.

This appeal was made today at the Emmaus Bible School playground in Bugongi, Northern Division of Kabale Municipality, during the birthday celebration of former Kabale Woman Member of Parliament Aspirant, Hon Enid Origumisiriza Atuhaire. The event brought together street kids from Kabale district, and clothing donations were distributed to each child.

Ivan Akanyujika, a representative of the street kids, highlighted the challenges they face, including harassment when seeking food from townspeople.

Expressing fatigue from constant begging, Akanyujika urged the government to institute empowering programs to address their fundamental needs and generate income.
