RUKUNGIRI – Rukungiri Business Tycoon Ambrose Tumwesigye Kibuuka has declared his bid for the Rujumbura County Parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2026 elections.

As the Executive Director of Site Man Construction Company, Sena Graphic Company, and Tiger Security Agency Company, Kibuuka is a notable figure in the region and also serves as the Chairperson of MK Movement in Kigezi Subregion.

His ambition is to unseat the incumbent Rujumbura County Member of Parliament and Security Minister, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi.

Kibuuka played a significant role in the 2021 general election campaigns, contributing to the NRM gaining momentum in what was traditionally an opposition stronghold.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Kibuuka announced his candidacy, expressing his responsiveness to the calls, cries, and frustrations of the people of Rujumbura.

“My people of #Rujumbura, I have received numerous calls, heard your cries, and frustrations. I have consulted my campaigners, and I now inform you that I am coming in 2026 to fight for the people. Enough is enough. See you on the ground, my people,” Kibuuka declared.

He added, “We gave them enough time to develop, and they did the small they could. So now my time has come for Rujumbura Constituency in 2026 – focusing on the education sector, job creation, electricity extension, road construction, security, and fighting corruption.”
