KISORO – Two individuals, Twizerimana Florence (18) from Rukofe village, Chibumba parish, Murora sub-county, and Nyirandabazi Flora (63) from Chibumba cell, Chibumba ward, Chahafi town council in Kisoro district, were tragically struck dead by lightning on Friday around 5:30 PM.
Reportedly, on February 2, 2024, at Rukofe village, Chibumba parish, Murora sub-county, Kisoro district, Twizerimana Florence, returning from the market, and Nyirandabazi Flora, coming from the garden, were walking along a pathway when they were fatally struck by lightning.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, shared that the bodies were discovered by passersby, including Murasa Benard and Nyiragasinda Lowin, who promptly informed the police.
Maate said that the scene was inspected and documented by district soco and detectives, awaiting postmortem results for further investigation.
