KABALE – Two People have lost their lives today in a tragic accident at Kabaraga, Kaharo Sub-county along the Kabale – Mbarara highway in Kabale District.
The police have confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Davis Arinaitwe (30), a boda boda rider residing in Kabatogote cell, Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale district, and John Mucunguzi (30), also a boda boda rider residing in Mugandara cell, Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale District.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 2:00 PM and involved a white Toyota Premio with registration number UAU 097W and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number UFX 791S.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, stated that the deceased were fatally struck by a Toyota Premio with registration number UAU 097N, whose driver is currently at large.
Maate further mentioned that the police were notified, and the scene was examined by ASP Mucunguzi Wilson Oc Traffic Kabale, assisted by No.42899cpl Kambale Isaac.
The bodies were transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
Maate reported that the involved motor vehicles are now at the Kabale police yard awaiting inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (I.O.V) and that Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
