Police Hunt Unidentified Vehicle in Kabale Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident

KABALE – Police in Kabale district are currently searching for an unidentified motor vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a 49-year-old pedestrian on the Kabale-Katuna road.

The victim, identified as Safari Nicholas, a Mukiga by tribe and resident of Kitumba sub-county in Kabale district, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. The tragic incident occurred on the 15th of October 2023, at approximately 6:30 PM in Kitumba.

Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi region police, reported that the police received an alert, and the scene was promptly visited by Asp Mucunguzi and his team. The victim’s body was then removed and transported to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Maate emphasized that investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the accident.
