On Friday, Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, stated that Niwamanya Methodius, 24, a resident of Kirigime in Kabale Municipality, had sustained injuries and was rushed to Home Care Clinic in Kitumba Sub County for medical attention.

However, he is now believed to have passed away, as posted by Kabale University on its social media platforms.

The accident also involved Byaruhanga Merekezedeki, 25, a resident of Kibuzigye village in Rubanda District, who also died.

According to Maate, both the motor vehicle and the motorcycle were traveling from Kabale town towards Katuna when the speeding motor vehicle lost control and hit the motorcycle carrying two passengers.

Maate attributed the accident to careless driving by the motor vehicle’s driver.
