MITOOMA: Susan Kyokusiima, a farmer and bar owner from Mitooma District, has radically transformed her life and her family’s future after winning Shs50 million in Uganda Breweries Limited’s nationwide Laga Swagga campaign last November.

Kyokusiima initially joined the campaign hoping to win airtime but was shocked when she emerged as the grand prize winner. Determined to make the most of her winnings, she invested in expanding her business, purchasing land, and securing a better future for her family.

“I never imagined that entering this campaign would change my life so significantly. With the Shs50 million, I have expanded my business, purchased more land for farming, and invested in a banana plantation, coffee, beans, groundnuts, and millet”. She elaborated

She added “I also bought crossbreed cows that I graze on the land. The money has created new opportunities for my family and me. I was also able to enroll all my children in better schools. Uganda Breweries has truly uplifted me.”

The Laga Swagga campaign, which ran for three months, rewarded thousands of participants across Uganda with cash prizes, airtime, and other rewards.

During a visit by a Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) team, Kyokusiima shared how the winnings had helped her expand her dairy farm, invest in land, support her children’s education, and grow her bar business in Mutara Town Council, Ruhinda South Constituency.

Kyokusiima expressed her gratitude to UBL for their courtesy visit and for witnessing the positive transformation her family has undergone.

In his remarks, Uganda Breweries Limited District Representative Kenneth Amanyire highlighted the broader impact of the Laga Swagga Campaign, which reached over one million consumers across Uganda and awarded a total of Shs 1 billion in prizes.

“Laga Swagga was not just about winning; it was about transforming lives. Susan’s story is a true testament to our commitment to empowering our consumers. We are proud to see how she has used her prize to expand her business and invest in her future,” Amanyire stated.

The Laga Swagga Campaign aimed to reward loyal consumers of Uganda Waragi, Bond 7, V&A, and Gilbeys, reinforcing UBL’s dedication to celebrating and uplifting the people who have supported its brands over the years.
