KABALE – In a letter dated December 4th, RDC Kabale Godfrey Nyakahuma, in collaboration with security operatives, has implemented an indefinite suspension on scrap selling in Kabale district.

This measure aims to address the persistent theft of metallic materials from residents and homes.

Nyakahuma emphasized that individuals with scrap materials should sell them to designated empty stores within a two-week period.

The decision comes in response to the alarming theft of road furniture, including signposts, guardrails, and other safety equipment, along roads in Kabale district and Kigezi.

Expressing concern over the rising theft cases, RDC Nyakahuma and security operatives are taking immediate action to safeguard public safety and prevent further compromise of road infrastructure.
