KABALE- The minister of state for trade, industry and co-operatives Hon David Bahati has embarked at equipping his constituents in Ndorwa west county with entrepreneurial skills.
In his speech delivered for him by the LCIII Chairperson for Kamuganguzi Sub- County Hon Twesigomwe Elias at the closure of one week training that was held at different sub-county headquarters in Ndorwa west constituency where each association from different areas of the constituency had sent their representatives, who shall also be training the locals in societies, Hon. David Bahati said that skills are very vital in our daily economic life and it’s the only reason why the government is putting all a lot of emphasis on vocational institutions and training people.
Minister Bahati said that he is optimistic that such training will help people in increasing household incomes.
He has urged the locals to use the equipped skills as they tap in government programs such as Parish Development model in order to eradicate poverty.
Mucunguzi Sheillah, a resident of Kaburanga commended Minister Bahati for the initiative citing that it has enabled her to acquire many skills such as bar soap making, liquid soap making, books, and jelly making among others.
Niwandinda Demas from the village of Nyakyonga, Kamuganguzi sub-county said that they have learnt how to use the borrowed loans from banks and local associations by making profits out of it because many people have been struggling to pay back those loans which he says it was due to being untrained how to use it.
Niwandida said that he is optimistic that such skills shall increase their household incomes which shall enable them to pay loans, school fees and other basic needs.
