Police in Agago District are investigating the suspected murder of a five-year-old girl, a pupil at St. Joseph’s Nursery and Primary School and resident of Toolit Village, Kiteny Parish in Ajali Sub-county.

According to police reports, the child, identified as Lakica Recho, left home on the morning of Friday, April 25, 2025, to attend school alongside other children. However, she disappeared without a trace. Her schoolmates were unable to locate her on the school premises and, upon returning home, she was still missing.

Her disappearance prompted an immediate search by family and community members, but their efforts yielded no results.

Aswa East Regional Police Spokesperson, Inspector Joe Oloya, stated that a missing person’s report was filed at Agago Central Police Station, and the search continued. It was not until the evening of Monday, April 28, 2025, at around 6:00 PM, that her lifeless body was discovered in a bush in Lacan Kweri Village by four youths who had been hunting wild birds.
