The body of a 24-year-old man who went missing on Thursday has been discovered floating on Lake Mutanda in Kisoro District.

The deceased, identified as Paul Munyambabazi, had gone missing from his parents’ home in Buhayo Village, Mbuga Parish, Nyakinama Sub-county. His body was discovered on Friday by fishermen.

According to police, Munyambabazi, who worked as a hawker in Kampala, had returned home before his disappearance on Thursday, which occurred shortly after he received a phone call.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed that police visited the scene, and with the help of local residents, the body was retrieved from the lake and taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary. A postmortem examination was carried out, and two of the deceased’s colleagues were arrested to assist with investigations.
