SHEEMA – Police in Sheema District are on the hunt for Mutebi Muzafaru, a casual worker residing in Kisoroza Cell, Kalera South Ward, Kashozi Division in Sheema Municipality.
The search is in connection to the alleged murder of his employer, Mwigarire Imelda, a 65-year-old resident of Kimondo 2 Cell, Marembo Ward in Kitagata Town Council, Sheema District.
According to the police statement, Mutebi began working as a domestic worker at the deceased’s home on Sunday, January 14, 2024. The husband of the deceased, who resides in Kasese due to business commitments, was not present at the time.
This morning, neighbors noticed the absence of both the victim and the suspect, prompting them to inform the husband. Upon calling the deceased, the husband found her phone switched off. Concerned, he reported a disappearance at Kitagata Police Station while en route from Kasese.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered the kitchen locked with two padlocks. Breaking in, they found Imelda lying dead in a pool of blood.

Tumusiime revealed that the suspect had stolen various items, including a flat screen and hoofers. The deceased was found wearing a blue dress, with her hands tied around her waist with a sweater. She had a significant head wound, had urinated on herself, and an axe with suspected blood stains was recovered from the main house.
The kitchen, where the deceased was discovered, was secured with two padlocks externally. The main house was in disarray, and the canine lost scent near the suspect’s room, leading to the main road. Investigations are ongoing
