RUBANDA – Police in Rubanda District have apprehended Tukamuhabwa Yarid, a 38-year-old businessman from Karengyere trading centre, for allegedly murdering his wife, Scovia Kobusingye.
The incident occurred on August 25, 2023, around 4:00 PM, following a domestic dispute.
The suspect reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with his wife, during which he fatally struck her on the head with a stool.
Elly Maate, the spokesperson for Kigezi Region Police, confirmed that locals promptly apprehended the suspect and turned him over to Muko police station, where he is currently in custody.
The crime scene was visited, documented, and a postmortem examination was conducted.
Maate further stated that the Rubanda Central Police Station has registered the case as a murder by assault under reference number CRB.320/2023, and investigations are currently in progress.
