KISORO: A man in his 60s has been arrested in Kisoro District for practicing witchcraft in Kanaba Sub County.

The suspect, Zarura David, was caught red-handed on Saturday night while dancing on top of his late elder brother’s grave in Gisasa village, Kagezi Parish, Kanaba Sub County. He was apprehended by Erastus Sabiti, a son of the deceased, and handed over to the Kanaba Police post.

Sabiti has asked the authorities to interrogate his uncle and uncover his motives, expressing concern for his family’s safety. He mentioned that it was the first time he had witnessed such an act but revealed that one of his daughters had frequently been attacked by evil spirits.

Christopher Serugyendo, the Gisasa LC1 Chairman, confirmed that he also found Mzee Zarura lying beside the grave. Upon learning about the incident, many angry residents gathered with the intention of torturing Zarura, but Serugyendo prevented them from doing so.
