KABALE: Police in Kabale District are investigating the murder of a man in his late 20s, whose body was discovered in Keirungu village, Birambo parish, Maziba sub-county.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, identified the deceased as Ahereza Eliot, a resident of Kasirima village, Maziba parish, Maziba sub-county, Kabale District.
According to Maate, the body was discovered by Turyasingura Edinavance, who had gone to the forest to collect firewood. She found the deceased lying on his back, with a rope tied to his right hand and a knife resting on his chest.
“Upon receiving the report, the Officer-in-Charge of Maziba Police Station registered the case as murder and alerted the District CID Officer for Kabale, D/SP Mukama Hakim. The scene was visited, and the body was retrieved and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for examination”. Maate said.
Maate added that no arrests have been made so far, but investigations are ongoing as police work to trace the suspects.
