Police in Kabale District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old Rukundo Dancun, a casual labourer and resident of Rushebeya Village, Buranga Parish in Kamuganguzi Sub County.
Rukundo’s body was discovered lying along the road in Kabarisa Cell, Kyonyo Ward, Katuna Town Council, at around 10:00 PM.
According to police reports, on Friday Morning, the Chairperson of Kabarisa Cell was alerted about an unidentified body found along the roadside.
Upon visiting the scene, he identified the deceased as Rukundo Dancun and immediately informed his relatives, who later reported the matter to Katuna Police Station.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed that a team from Kabale Central Police Station responded to the report. The scene was visited, documented, and processed.
The body was transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to help determine the cause of death.
Maate has appealed to the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the individuals behind the incident, urging community members to cooperate with authorities to ensure justice is served.
