Victor Nkamwesiga, a 37-year-old resident of Rutooma Cell, Kashojwa Parish in Kanungu District, has reportedly died by suicide.
Nkamwesiga, who had gone missing from home on Saturday, was found on Sunday morning hanging from a jack tree along the road near his residence.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that officers at Rugyeyo Police Station were informed, and the scene was visited and documented.
According to Maate, reliable information indicates that Nkamwesiga suffered from seasonal mental health issues and had previously received treatment at Katate Health Center IV, which may have contributed to the tragic incident.
